Mastering GitHub Copilot: Unleash Its Full Potential
§1. General Provisions
- The event is organised under the name “Mastering GitHub Copilot: Unleash Its Full Potential” and is hereinafter referred to as: “Event“.
- The Event is organised by VM.PL sp. z o.o., ul. Kościuszki 82, 50 – 441 Wrocław, entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs of the National Court Register under the KRS number: 0000201477 by the District Court for Wrocław Fabryczna, VI Economic Division, with a share capital of PLN 116,400, NIP 8951811558, hereinafter referred to as: “Organiser“.
§2. Place and date of Event
- The Event will take place on 27th February and will be conducted remotely (online training) between the hours of 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- The purpose of the Event is to familiarise participants, especially tech leaders, with GitHub Copilot solutions for software development.
§3. Rules for participation in the Event
- A natural person of age may be an Event participant (the “Participant”), provided that s/he has been qualified to participate in the Event in accordance with the rules specified below. These Rules and Regulations apply to participation in the Event by persons from outside the Organiser’s company.
- Participation in the Event is voluntary. Interested persons may apply via the form published on the Organiser’s LinkedIn profile.
- If the Participant agrees to receive commercial or marketing information, such as, for example, information about events or language courses (hereinafter: “marketing consent”), the contact details will also be used for the Organiser’s future commercial or marketing communication.
- The Organiser reserves that the number of Participants is limited. Not all interested and registered persons will be qualified to participate in the Event. In the event that there are more people interested in participating in the Event than there are places at the Event, the order of applications and the decision of the Organiser will be decisive. In such case, the selection of applicants will be made at the sole discretion of the Organiser and does not require the Organiser’s justification.
- Registration for the Event is open until 27 February 3:59 p.m. The Organiser reserves the right to extend the deadline for accepting registrations if a sufficient number of Participants is not reached by the aforementioned date. In such a case, an extended registration deadline will be indicated on the website referred to in para. 2 above.
- The Organiser shall inform interested parties who have registered for the Event about their eligibility or non-eligibility as Participants by e-mail.
§4. Benefits
- Details regarding the topic, duration and course of the Event will be made available on the website referred to in § 3 para. 2 of the Rules and Regulations or will be communicated to qualified Participants by e-mail.
- In order to participate in the Event, the Participant must have a mobile device (e.g. laptop, tablet, smartphone), connected to the Internet, and a web browser installed. Costs in this respect shall be borne by the Participant. Event will be organised on the platform Clickmeeting (free of charge).
- Subject to para. 2 above, registration and participation in the Event (online training) shall be free of charge for Participants.
§5. Organisation of the Event
- The Event will be held remotely and will have a training format.
- Apart from Participants, representatives of the Event Organiser will participate in the Event.
§6. Personal data and image of Event Participants
- In order to participate in the Event, the Event Participant must provide his/her personal data, i.e.: first and last name, e-mail address.
- The controller of Participants’ personal data processed in connection with registration and participation in the Event, as well as the processing of data for marketing purposes, is the Organiser. In matters of personal data processing by the Organiser, the Organiser can be contacted at the following email address: rodo@vm.pl. - The Participant’s personal data referred to above and contained in the registration shall be processed by the Organiser in order to organise and conduct the Event according to the Rules and Regulations. The basis for the processing of Participants’ data is the performance of a contract, based on the Rules and Regulations, on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. The Participant enters into an agreement for the aforesaid benefits with the Organiser by approving the Rules and Regulations in the registration form. Provision of personal data is voluntary but necessary to participate in the Event. Failure to provide data will result in non-eligibility for the Event and inability to participate in the Event.
- In the case of persons who have given marketing consent, their personal data provided during the registration process for the Event will be processed for future communication. Consent is given by marking the relevant consent on the registration form. The basis for the processing of Participants’ data in the aforementioned scope is the consent given on the basis of Article 398 of the Act of 12 July 2024 – Electronic Communications and llegitimate interest of the Organisator in carrying out direct marketing – Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.
- In justified cases, the Participants’ personal data referred to above and contained in the registration form may also be processed for the purpose of pursuing or defending claims as a legitimate interest of the Organiser, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR. Providing personal data and giving consent to the processing of data in the aforementioned scope is voluntary, but necessary to receive future marketing and commercial information from the Organiser.
- Persons who have consented to the processing of their personal data for marketing purposes shall have the right to withdraw their consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent prior to its withdrawal. - Since the Event will take place remotely, the Organiser reserves the right to record the Event. It is not obligatory to switch on the camera during the Event, but if the Participant chooses to do so, this is tantamount to consenting to the Organiser using his/her image or image together with the voice recording. Recordings of the Event may be used by the Organiser for marketing, information and training purposes and may be distributed to Participants of the Event or in the Organiser’s social media. The basis for consent to disseminate the image is Article 81(1) of the Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights. If the dissemination of the Participant’s image involves the processing of personal data, such data will be processed based on the Organiser’s legitimate interest consisting in the intention to document and promote the Event on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Recipients of a Participant’s personal data may be:
- companies affiliated with the Organiser,
- entities processing data on behalf of the Organiser, including but not limited to providers of infrastructure, systems and tools used by the Organiser in the process of sending commercial information,
- LinkedIn – to the extent that the Organiser uses this tool to organise the Event and communicate,
- YouTube – to the extent that the Organiser uses this tool to organise the Event and make its recording available,
- Clickmeeting – to the extent that the Organiser uses this tool to organise the Event,
- authorised bodies or institutions in accordance with the applicable law.
- In order to organise the Event and promote it, the Organiser may also use the information provided by the User on LinkedIn or contact the User via the LinkedIn page and share the recording of the Event on YouTube. The Organiser is not responsible for the privacy policies of these portals, but encourages Participants to read them on the sites:
- Participants’ personal data shall be retained for the following periods:
- data processed for the purposes of organising the Event: for the duration of the organisation of the Event and for a maximum of 1 month after the end of the Event. The published recordings of the Event will be available on the YouTube platform for an indefinite period unless Participant raise an objection.
- data processed for the purposes of sending commercial and marketing information: until the data subjects withdraw their consent or effectively object,
- data processed for the purpose of the assertion or defence of claims: data will be stored with due regard to the relevant limitation periods, but no longer than 6 years, counting from the end of the year in which the event took place, consent was withdrawn or an objection was raised.
- With regard to the data processed for the purposes of organising the Event, the Organiser will not transfer data subjects’ personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). With regard to data processed for the purpose of sending commercial or marketing information, we may transfer data subjects’ personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example to the USA, due to the use of selected tools for this process or our website. We ensure that any such transfer of data takes place with appropriate safeguards, such as, for example, an adequacy decision (Article 45 GDPR) or standard contractual clauses (pursuant to Article 46(2) GDPR). - To the extent provided by law, Event Participants have the following rights with regard to the processing of their personal data:
a. the right to request access to personal data,
b. the right to rectification,
c. the right to erasure,
d. the right to restriction of processing,
e. the right to object to processing,
f. the right to data portability.
In order to exercise the aforementioned rights, the Organiser must be contacted at the address specified in § 1 para. 2 of the Rules and Regulations or by e-mail: rodo@vm.pl. However, the Organiser informs that the requests for exercising the aforesaid rights will be assessed in the light of GDPR regulations
and therefore, we do not guarantee that they will be exercised in each case. - In the event of a data breach, Event Participants also have the right to lodge a complaint with a polish supervisory authority (the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection).
§7. Obligations of Participants
- The Organiser reserves the right to verify persons who register for the Event and to refuse entry to persons who have not registered or have not been qualified to participate in accordance with the Rules and Regulations.
- During participation in the Event, Participants are obliged to behave in a manner that does not endanger the safety of other Participants, does not hinder other Participants’ participation in the Event, does not disturb order and generally to observe accepted standards of behaviour during remote meetings, including not providing access to the Event (link to the Event) to third parties.
- If a Participant fails to comply with the above obligations during the Event, the Organiser reserves the right to remove or expel the Participant from the Event.
- The Participant shall be held fully responsible for any damage caused as a result of a breach of the Rules and Regulations, in particular the obligations provided for in paragraph 2 above.
§8. Complaints
- Complaints concerning the Event may be submitted by the Participants of the Event by e-mail to reklamacje@vm.pl or in writing to the Organiser’s registered office address specified in § 1 para. 2 of the Rules and Regulations at all times from the publication of the announcement of the Event until 14 days after the end of the Event.
- The date of receipt of the complaint by the Organiser shall be decisive for compliance with the deadline specified in § 8 para. 1 of the Rules and Regulations.
- Complaints received after the deadline for filing complaints will not be considered, which does not deprive the Participant of the right to submit the case to a court of law.
- When submitting a complaint, the Participant should describe the subject of the complaint in detail and concisely.
- Effectively submitted complaints, i.e. meeting the requirements specified in para. 1 and 4, will be considered by the Organiser without delay, no later than within 14 days from the date of receipt of the complaint. The complainant shall be notified of the result of the complaint consideration by e-mail or post (depending on the method of complaint submission) sent within 7 days of the date of handling the complaint.
- After the complaint procedure has been exhausted, if the Organiser does not accept the complaint, the Participant has the right to submit the case to a common court of law.
- Participants who are consumers have the right to use out-of-court methods of handling complaints and pursuing claims, including but not limited to the right to refer the matter to a permanent arbitration court at the Trade Inspection, a voivodeship inspector of the Trade Inspection or a poviat (city) consumer ombudsman or a social organisation whose statutory tasks include consumer protection.
§9. Final provisions
- The Event is a closed meeting for qualified Participants and employees and associates of the Organiser.
- The Organiser has the right to amend the provisions of these Rules and Regulations, provided that this does not adversely affect the conditions of participation in the Event, but only for important reasons dictated by organisational, economic or legal considerations. The amended Rules and Regulations shall be effective from the date of notification of the change by publishing the amended Rules and Regulations on the Organiser’s LinkedIn profile and sending an informational email to Participants already enrolled.
- Registration for participation in the Event means that the Event Participant has read and accepts the content of the Rules and Regulations. By signing up for the Event, the Participant agrees to the provisions of the Rules and Regulations and thus undertakes to abide by them.
- In the case of fortuitous events, the Organiser reserves the right to change the course of the Event or its organisational guidelines, and even to cancel the Event. In such a case, Participants shall not be entitled to any compensation or reimbursement from the Organiser in connection with these changes. The Organiser shall notify the Participants in advance by e-mail of any change.
